I love to move.

My career started as circus teacher and performer, specialising in aerial tissue and Chinese pole. A few years in, I developed chronic pain, bursitis, and tendonitis in my shoulders.

At times the pain was so bad I couldn’t even lift a cup of water to my mouth.

I saw countless practitioners, from physiotherapists and chiropractors to shoulder specialists. They all told me I had to stop training, and would likely be in pain for the rest of my life. I refused to believe them.

After a lot of study and experimentation, I was able to find a combination of methodologies that allowed me to not only completely recover, but prevent future injuries and unlock more strength and flexibility.

This allowed me to have a successful career as a performer and teacher, even studying at the illustrious Beijing International Arts School, and training with Ido Portal.

There was no “one weird trick” or perfect system for me, and I realised there probably wasn’t one for anyone else either.

I was determined to help my students, friends and family avoid the kind of pain I had been in.

By combining structural bodywork, muscle activation therapy, targeted exercise, and movement coaching, I’ve been able to help many people live without pain, increase their strength and flexibility, and feel more at home in their bodies.

Today I live in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, with my partner and Bear the greyhound.

Although I no longer teach or perform circus, I still enjoy helping people achieve handstands, and teaching movement classes. In my spare time I love baking bread, drawing and painting, and playing piano and guitar.
